Promote the Vote was formed in June of 2020. The idea began to develop while our President/CEO, Derrick Dyess, was studying Political Science. He became aware of how voter turnout was concerningly low among younger generations. That was the spark, that ignited Promote the Vote, and solidified our mission. Voting is the truest language of democracy. Promote the Vote is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization with a mission to educate, increase voter registration, and voter turnout, with a focus on the youth vote. We provide a number of strategies that aim to complete our mission. Our services include, educating the public on the purpose of voting, and the history of voting in the United States. We provide guidance and answer any questions regarding voting, and voting rights. Although we will provide these services to anyone, our main strategy is to engage, encourage, educate, and register young voters. We provide and promote information that has been thoroughly vetted and checked for accuracy. The greater the participation in voting has the ability to form a government that more closely resembles it’s citizens.
“We in America do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate.” – Thomas Jefferson
